is anyone doing the volvo ocean race game....?

i joined only 5 minutes ago so i'm 1 day 10 hours 46 minutes and 30 seconds behind the leaders
btw i have 2 boats on the go:
KissMyTransom (obviously) and Posedion so come join me at the back of the fleet asap and add me as a friend if you want to keep tabs on my progress |

add HighAndFast, I haven't got out of the med yet, I was 5 hours late for the start!
Sitting and wallowing in 3 kts of breeze  There was 20kts at the start! pfft.

I started yesterday, then proceeded to hit Gibraltar about 10 times last night. This game is whack! Going to lose interest quite soon I think.

i've lost about 70 places every time i log on is that happening to anyone else or am i just in an area over crowded with boats i cant see? and i had sailed into no wind! yippy

its not hugely exciting, but at least its real time lol.
and i might be right in believing we are sailing in real wind.
i dont think there are any tides though... offshore racing in the english channel is all about tide/wind tactics.. whereas this seems to be mainly wind-chasing.

lucky fucker! you'll be in breeze building to 24 kts while you sleep, while i'll be stuck in a steady 5 building to 11 kts over night and probably still stuck in the whole i'm in right now.........so not fair!
btw trim and rugger are still sitting on each other.......wherent you two there this morning too?

we are out of gibraltar now. i seem to be taking a commanding lead over rugger again... he did a fair bit of catching up at the entrance to the straits!

My boats ASIF1, currently 7663rd after jumping 7000 places this afternoon. Anyone figured out how to go 10kn in 1kn of wind yet? The guy infront of me seems quite good at it...  |

I was in Alicante last week for the real start. These sailing machines are really hot, it was impressive to see the 8 boats together and ready for the start.
Very hot, but I dont think they can do windspeed x 10.
