-When you show up in the field (and if you have been entered) I will invite you in and you can get yourself a boat -- just the way the private field works

by increasing the limit of sailors allowed in the regatta...instead of 25, maybe increase it to 50

We tested it out just now.... with a geo of .5 and wind base 10, the beat took approximately 10 minutes... actually some very fun shifts with the little amount of ppl we had... i can imagine the reaches will be very entertaining with multiple boats

Aestela, may I request that you get rid of the 15 min time limit in the private field(s) as well as possible make it a larger fleet size? maybe no limit?

i'm not so sure about reaches and what happens about tide? does it get really strong on a big course? How about shore line and wind bends and convergence/divergence effects?

OMG just read this.........

At 2.30am this morning (17th October) Alex Thomson and his crew onboard the Open 60 yacht HUGO BOSS were struck by a 60 foot fishing vessel. HUGO BOSS was 2 miles outside the harbour of les Sables dâ??Olonne when the incident happened. HUGO BOSS was waiting to transfer some of the technical team onboard at daylight having just crossed the channel from their homeport of Gosport, UK ready for the start of the Vendée Globe.

HUGO BOSS was stationary with only its mainsail up when the fishing vessel struck. The race boat was visible with its navigation lights, trim lights and a strobe light on. Its radar and AIS systems were also activated and working.

The fishing vessel, registered in France, struck HUGO BOSS forward of the cap shroud on the starboard side, severely holing HUGO BOSS and bringing the mast down. The mast and sails were cut away from the boat before they motored into les Sables dâ??Olonne to have the damage assessed. Also onboard at the time of the incident with Alex was Boat Captain, Ross Daniel and Rigger, Giles Waterhouse. No-one onboard was injured.

Now let us decide on a date.... let's shoot for next week and let's all spread the word before then because with 8 of us now promoting this we can easily triple/quadruple the field in a snap

no way i can do noon...unless its on a saturday. if its on a monday, wednesday or friday i can do anything after 1 EST. anything on a tuesday or thursday I can do after 3...Hope im not the one who screws up the scheduling!
