i have a few questions.
how often do they update the rankings?
how long does it take for minus protest points to go away?
how long do you not have to play before your account get's deleted?

HI Opti,
rankings are updated daily (around GMT 0400).
the protest points are for one month, i believe. (it used to be 90 days!)
i think the free account will stay for ever!!

If you pay, you get some advantages;
precedence on multi-fleet regattas
You have another 54 days (i think) as a paid user, then you will have to pay.

Go to the shop to have a look, there are a few different options. I worked it out a few weeks ago, for Aussies for a year membership it will cost $45.85.
We need to pay because a revenue will allow us some activities on SailX we can't even dream of today. But u don't NEED to pay, it just provides advantages..
Sailing by the lee, just tap down until past dead downwind and press space.

what tash means opti is that in big regatta, for example when you have 2 fields, you will be given a place in field 1 (where the points are etc) over someone who has not paid.

Your being on Guest Rights depends solely of you.
Ask for the restriction to be lifted using the Ask SailX form. Explain why you got Guest Rights and why we (the whole community) should trust you.

one question... My ranking was 200ish before, but now all of the sudden it is 800ish, with all of my points gone. What happened?
Also, my account was restricted for 2 weeks or so because of a protest, until date 3/7/10, but now it is still restricted with no end date.
Please Helppp???

One thing is groups.
You can create a group or you can request to be a member of a created group.
If you create a group you can accept members
And that's all.
Another thing is the friends/connections
You can request to be a friend/to be connected with another user. He can accept or not.
For groups you go to the Groups menu option (under account).
For Friends/connections you go to the profiles (yours or your friends').

Hi No-Excuses,
Find out why you had your rights restricted. It looks like you were given Black Flag restricted rights for abusive language.
In order to get your normal rights back you need to show that you can sail by the rules, always be a gentleman sailor and never post an insult at anyone on sailx.
You can request your rights reinstated by putting your mouse over the Account button in the top menu and clicking on "Ask Sailx".
Remember it is up to you to show the Administration of Sailx that you will never repeat what you did to get restricted rights when you ask for your rights back, you have to prove that you can be trusted to behave in the future.
Aloha!
