I tack onto port and start to duck Twixta2. Twixta2 sheets out and while FB goes down to duck there is no avenue of escape. Twista2 breaks rule 16.2 here

Let's see what Twixta2 has to say about breaking rule 2 here.

Twixta2 - before you comment please read this web page on rule 2: www.rya.org.uk/programmes/team15/about/p...irsportsmanship.aspx

This is interesting here. If you had asked me I would have said that it was a valid tactic in a teams race (obviously not in a fleet race).

Slowing so that a boat needs to duck you is a valid tactic. Luffing abruptly and not allowing a boat a chance to keep clear in order to create a collision is not.

From the team race call book

If A’s actions are inconsistent with seamanlike sailing in the existing conditions, and
are solely designed to cause contact, she breaks rule 2, Fair Sailing.

Facts:
Twixta2 sheets out which is unseamanlike sailing, solely in order to cause a collision when Fastbear is ducking.

Decision:
Twixta2 breaks R2 so gets a non-discardable DSQ and a warning to sail in a fair manner in the future.
